FAQ & Knowledge Base

Common questions about gate operators, garage doors, remotes, power and maintenance. Tap a question to read the answer.

No. The force rating of the motor is the correct indicator for the size of gate that the motor can handle, not the supply voltage. We size the operator to your gate's weight and length.

Yes, you can get additional controls for your gate operator at any time. We can supply and program extra remotes to match your existing system.

When purchasing remote controls, ensure they are compatible with the brand and model you have. Frequency alone is not enough โ€” the encoding and rolling-code type must also match.

It depends on the gate type (slide, swing or garage), its weight, length and how often it is used. The motor's force rating must comfortably exceed your gate's requirements. We recommend a site visit so we can specify the right operator.

Most operators include a manual release key so you can open the gate by hand during an outage. We can also fit a battery backup so the gate continues to operate automatically when the power is down.

We recommend a service once a year for residential gates, and more frequently for high-traffic commercial installations. Regular servicing keeps force settings safe, lubricates moving parts and extends the life of the operator.

First check that power is reaching the unit and that no obstruction is blocking the gate or the safety photocells. A flat remote battery is also a common cause. If the gate still will not move, contact us and we will diagnose the fault.
